How long does it take to become a solicitor with SQE?

You don’t even need a degree or indeed any experience to take the SQE. 

So anyone can take it.

However, you need three things to actually become a solicitor, if you have passed the SQE: 

  1. Two years’ qualifying work experience; and
  2. A degree – it doesn’t have to be in law though. 

Obviously there are some exemptions, but that is the basic position.
